There are a number of reasons for this extraordinary growth, not the least of which is the excellent school system.  Cabot schools include seven elementary schools, two middle schools, two junior high schools, and one impressively enlarged high school.  The high school is the 6th largest in the state and offers courses of interest to accomodate a wide variety of student interests.  Students can earn credits for college and there is even a charter school for students whose needs are not condusive to a traditional 8:00am to 3:30pm school day. Cabot High school has received statewide recognition in many extracurricular activies including forensics & debate, band, and the Quiz Bowl.  Competing in the largest athletic classification in the state, the Cabot Panther football team was the 2000 State Champs.  Cabot High School also hosts the Arkansas Activities Association High School Track & Field Meet of Champs.

Great Location
Cabot's location is another reason for its explosive growth.  Located only 10 miles from the Little Rock Air Force base, many military families choose Cabot as the place to call home.  Big city amenities and employment are also easily accessible as Little Rock is only a 20 mile commute.  There are four major universities within a fifty mile radius as well as technical schools and community colleges.  Arkansas State University Beebe is only eight miles north of Cabot and offers both 2 and 4 year degrees.

In addition Cabot is a wonderful community geared towards family.  The new Veterans Community Center features an indoor 25 meter swimming and therapy pool, indoor walking track, excercise room with cardio & weight equipment, basketball courts, aerobic classes, and swimming lessons. The city of Cabot also offers an outdoor pool, parks with playgrounds, handicapped accessible 1/2 mile lighted walking track, a fishing pond, seven baseball fields, four softball fields, 2 lighted football fields, and 10 soccer fields.  And if that's not enough, there are numerous businesses to satisfy interests of all kinds including dance studios, gymnastics and cheerleading studios, taekwondo, bowling, skating, golf, and the movies.
